Alachua County Feed and Seed carries seasonally appropriate plants as well as a large selection of seeds (some in bulk), fertilizers, organic sprays and more.

The Edible Plant Project sells many types of annual and perennial plants that thrive in Florida. For a list of good summer greens, check out this summary from Michael Adler.

Firefly Farm in Brooker specializes in Florida heirlooms. They sell their plants around town, but you can contact them directly.

Garden Gate Nursery sells many plants; edibles, trees, shrubs etc. 

Ward’s Supermarket often features a great selection of locally appropriate vegetable starts and herbs from Farmer John and others.

Cedar is the recommended lumber for garden boxes. Cypress is usually an unsustainable choice and cedar may have pest deterrent qualities. It can be purchased through a local forester, Tom Workman who can be contacted at 352-727-8347 or
